Joining the band information
The Marching Koalas are currently auditioning members aged 12+ to join the band with no age limit. We are looking for new members to join our brass, woodwind, percussion and Colourguard/Drill (flags) sections. Please note any members aged 18+ will require a valid working with children check and need to present this to our welfare officer.
Rehearsals take place every Tuesday evening during school terms from 6pm-8:30pm at
Costs: Registration $100 per year due when you join, plus term fees of $35 per school term.
You can use your Creative kids voucher if applicable to cover your registration fee.
Initial Uniform Bond: $100 ($50 refundable if you leave the band and return your uniform)
Come along any Tuesday night during school term to see what we do. If you decide to join (and we hope that you do!) here is the procedure:
* See our Welfare Officer (Karen Piper) on a Tuesday evening to receive information book and registration forms.
* After approximately 6 weeks of rehearsals pay registration and uniform bond fees
* Collect Blue Form from our Treasurer signed by the Treasurer and a Director
* Attend Uniform Shop to be fitted for Cadet Uniform (Black Travel Uniform/Hat/T-shirt) can take part in performances on the banner or flags until music and routines are learnt and director signs off.
* Director will audition member when appropriate, then will sign form to have full uniform issued and take place in performances on chosen section. Auditions are held at St Paul’s Church Hall, 66 Felton Street, Gateshead NSW Australia.
