Recent Performance at Australia's Got Talent 2013
The Marching Koalas were formed in 1982 after a visit from the Arcadia High School Apache Marching Band from the USA and are based in Newcastle, NSW, Australia.
The Koalas toured to America in 1984 and marched in the Pasadena Rose Parade on New Years Day.
Since then the band (and parent supporters) have toured on no less than 12 other occasions visiting Canada , Japan , England ,Scotland , France , Germany, Italy, New Zealand, China and last year in 2012 the east coast of the USA.
Travel experience is an important part of the band's activities.
The band has played in all world Disneyland Theme Parks in Anaheim , Orlando, France , Tokyo and Hong Kong and has performed at the famous Calgary Stampede on three occasions.
The Koalas played a big role in Australia's Bicentenary celebrations in 1988 and has given many performances before members of England's Royal Family.
The band performs regularly at many interesting functions and band members experience a unique musical experience whilst developing their skills as musicians and positive lifestyle activities .
The band is supported by a parent committee and enjoys a high profile both locally and internationally.
They rehearse on a Tuesday night during school terms from 6pm till 9pm at Callaghan Jesmond Campus.

The Marching Koalas toured Canada in the July school vacation in 2014 taking part in the "Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth!" , the Calgary Stampede.
